Think independently.
Build deliberately.

Dolat Pty Ltd is an Australian proprietary company based in Adelaide, South Australia. Our ambition is to build and develop businesses with purpose, discipline and a clear view of the future.

We are establishing a corporate foundation that can support multiple ventures as the company grows. Each opportunity is considered on its own merits, with an emphasis on responsible decisions and lasting value.

Future ventures

Long-term ambition

As Dolat develops, we intend to explore opportunities to establish and operate additional businesses. New ventures will be introduced here as they take shape.

Forex, viewed through
structure and liquidity.

The foreign exchange market brings together currencies, global capital flows and changing economic expectations. Our research considers monetary policy, economic releases and trading-session conditions alongside price behaviour.

We combine a broader market view with closer analysis of liquidity, order flow and price structure. The aim is a repeatable decision process, with a clear distinction between a market observation and a trade worth taking.

01 / CONTEXT

Begin with the bigger picture.

Consider the broader direction before examining individual candles.

Illustrative learning tool. Prices use a synthetic index and participation bars use arbitrary units. Neither represents live prices, actual order flow, a trading signal or Dolat’s performance.

Three lenses.
One disciplined process.

Explore the ideas behind our analysis.

01 / Context

Forex markets

Currency analysis starts with the relationship between economies and the conditions in which a pair trades.

Explore the concepts
  • Interest-rate expectations and economic events
  • Session activity, spreads and volatility
  • Higher-timeframe context and key price levels
02 / Participation

Order Flow

Order-flow analysis studies buying and selling activity using the transaction and order-book data available from a particular venue or feed.

Explore the concepts
  • Executed volume and aggressive buying or selling
  • Available depth and changes in liquidity
  • How price responds to participation
03 / Structure

Smart Money Concepts

A framework for interpreting price structure and potential liquidity areas. Explore definitions and limitations in the market notebook below.

What to examine
  • Structure and reference swings
  • Price behaviour around relevant zones
  • Evidence that would invalidate an interpretation

Spot forex has no single consolidated order book; order-flow data represents the venue or feed observed. SMC labels are interpretations of price behaviour, not proof of institutional activity or guarantees of what price will do next.

THE MARKET NOTEBOOK / 01

Beyond the candle.
Understand the evidence.

Two ways of reading a market. Different inputs, different limitations. Open a concept to explore it.

Order Flow

TRANSACTIONS + DEPTH
Resting orders vs executed trades

A depth-of-market display shows advertised buy and sell orders at price levels on a venue. Time-and-sales records completed trades. Orders may change or be cancelled before execution, so visible depth is not a promise that liquidity will remain available.

Volume delta & cumulative delta

Delta compares buyer-initiated with seller-initiated executed volume over a chosen interval. Cumulative delta adds those differences over time. Every trade has a buyer and seller; the distinction is which side initiates the transaction. Classification methods and feed coverage affect the result.

Absorption & price response

Large aggressive volume with limited price progress may be interpreted as absorption by opposing liquidity. Compare transactions with price response and changing depth. This is an interpretation of observed activity, not identification of the participant or a guaranteed reversal.

Spread, depth & execution cost

The bid–ask spread is the gap between the best quoted buy and sell prices. Depth describes available size at successive prices. Executing an order may consume several levels; slippage, fees and changing quotes can make the final cost different from the initial quote.

Know the feed. Spot FX is fragmented across venues and providers. A broker feed cannot represent the entire market. Tick counts measure quote activity, not consolidated traded volume.

Smart Money Concepts

PRICE + STRUCTURE
BOS & change of character

A break of structure (BOS) generally describes price breaking a relevant swing in the prevailing direction. A change of character (ChoCH) describes a break against the preceding structure. Definitions vary; specify the timeframe, swing rule and whether confirmation requires a close.

Liquidity sweeps

A sweep describes price moving beyond a reference high or low and returning inside. Traders may interpret the area as potential stop liquidity. Candles alone do not reveal the actual stop orders or establish deliberate institutional targeting.

Order blocks

An order block is an interpreted candle or price zone before a strong move. It is a reference for studying a later reaction, not a verified institutional order. Zones can fail and differ between traders.

Fair value gaps

A fair value gap usually means a three-candle pattern where the first and third candles’ ranges do not overlap around the middle candle’s move. The zone is a price-action reference; “fair value” does not mean measured intrinsic value, and price need not revisit it.

Define before interpreting. These concepts organise observations. They do not establish who traded, guarantee a setup, or replace a tested process and defined risk.

The gold chart above displays OANDA’s XAU/USD feed. It is not an exchange order book or a footprint chart. COMEX gold futures and spot gold are distinct instruments; their volume and order-flow data should not be presented interchangeably.

From observation to review.

01 / RESEARCH

Establish context

Review economic events, market conditions and the broader price structure.

02 / ASSESS

Build a scenario

Identify relevant levels and the evidence that would support or invalidate an idea.

03 / DEFINE

Set the risk

Consider position size, exposure, execution costs and the point of invalidation.

04 / REVIEW

Learn from outcomes

Record decisions and evaluate consistency, execution and changing conditions.

Our principles.
In every decision.

How we build matters as much as what we build.

01 /

Integrity

Act with honesty, communicate clearly and take responsibility for our decisions.

02 /

Discipline

Evaluate carefully, understand the risks and bring consistency to the way we work.

03 /

Long-term thinking

Look beyond immediate outcomes to build businesses with strong foundations and room to grow.
